PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read a monochrome image in high resolution at a high speed. SOLUTION: In this pseudo high resolution reading system using a color image sensor device with respective RGB photodetectors arranged for 600 DPI, a relative reading speed between the respective RGB photodetectors 10 to 30 and an original to be a reading target is set in a speed for reading three pixels per scan for 200 DPI, R photodetector input image 14/G photodetector input image 24/B photodetector input image 34 read at the set speed are divided in each line, the divided respective RGB light received images are arranged so as to alternately repeat RGB arrays to composite the images like an image 45, and the composited image 42 is binarized like an image 46.
