PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for ink jet coating capable of easily obtaining a film of a desired thickness without overflowing over from a bank of a coating liquid and generating of coating irregularity when drops of the coating liquid are sprayed to be coated on a substrate by the method for ink jet coating. SOLUTION: A combination of a step that drops of the coating liquid are sprayed from an ink jet nozzle to be coated on the surface of the substrate and a step that the coated coating liquid is dried to give a solid matter of solutes in the coating liquid, is repeated twice or more in the same area so that the solid matter of solutes having the desired thickness is formed on the surface of the substrate.
