PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device which is excellent in light emitting characteristics, longer in service life, and lower in operating voltage. SOLUTION: The organic EL device includes a positive electrode, an LaCuOS layer, an organic light emitting layer, and a negative electrode in this order, wherein the LaCuOS layer is put into contact with the organic light emitting layer and the positive electrode.
