PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is made low in profile while keeping a predetermined mechanical strength and can simply be assembled. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device 10, in which a first liquid crystal display panel 15 is arranged on a surface of a light guide plate 11 guiding light ray to both front and rear faces and a second liquid crystal display panel 30 of a smaller size than the first liquid crystal display panel 15 is arranged on another surface thereof, and they are laminated, a thin plate shaped reinforcing frame 25 which has nearly the same size as that of the light guide plate 11 and has an opening 26 with nearly the same size as that of the display surface of the second liquid crystal display panel 30 is interposed between the light guide plate 11 and the second liquid crystal display panel 30. The second liquid crystal display panel 30 is covered with a cover 40 with an opening 42 corresponding to the display surface of the second liquid crystal display panel 30, and the second liquid crystal display panel 30 is interposed and fixed between the reinforcing frame 25 and the cover 40.
