PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide a direction to provide force for turning corresponding to the posture of a camera in an image blur correction means of the camera to be moved in parallel and turned by providing the force in two different directions. SOLUTION: An image pickup element support mechanism is provided with a movable part and a fixed part, the base plate of the fixed part supports the movable substrate of the movable part in the state of being capable of parallel movement and turning along a movable plane, and 1st-4th driving parts are provided on respectively different parts in the movable part. The 1st and 2nd driving parts give driving force in a 1st direction to the movable part, and the 3rd and 4th driving parts give the driving force in a 2nd direction to the movable part. A posture sensor detects the gravity direction of gravity applied to the movable part. In the case where the sine of the 1st angle formed by the gravity direction and the 1st direction is larger than the sine of the 2nd angle formed by the gravity direction and the 2nd direction, the movable part is turned by the force given from the 1st and 2nd driving parts.
