PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection video display capable of securely sensing a person within the projection areas of the projection video display and the position of the person, and preventing unpleasant feeing from being imparted to the person within the projection area and to a user viewing the video by the projection video display. SOLUTION: The projection video display projects a video, via display devices 31, 32, and 33, by using light emitted from a light source 1. The projection video display includes a plurality of person detection means 43a and 43b for dividing a projected video into a plurality of smaller areas and detecting a person in each the smaller video areas divided, and a control means 46 for controlling a video state in the area corresponding to the person detection means 43a or 43b sensing the person.
