PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the possibility of breakage of an oscillating body in a recorder having a recording material detection means which is arranged on a feed passage of a recording material with a tip of the oscillating body protruded, and an oscillating body retracting means to retract the tip of the oscillating body from the feed passage. SOLUTION: When a disk tray TR is manually inserted (symbol G) from the discharge side of a recording paper P while a lever tip 352 of a paper detection lever 35 is not completely retracted from a paper feed path but a part of the lever tip 352 is protruded to the paper feed passage, the tip of the disk tray TR is butted to the lever tip 352 of the paper detection lever 35. In this situation, if the disk tray TR is further pushed in, the other end 371 of a torsional coil spring 37 abutted on a wall part 353 of the paper detection lever 35 is pushed by the disk tray TR by the spring force of the torsional coil spring 37, and elastically displaced according to the oscillation of the paper detection lever 35 oscillated in the oscillating direction indicated by a symbol J.
