PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooking vessel for a microwave oven designing the allowable temperature limit of a component high, reducing the weight, and improving the usability of a user in a cooking vessel conventionally disposed with a heating body heating by absorbing microwaves in the rear face of the cooking vessel. SOLUTION: A square plate 6 forms a vessel part, which can retain water heated by the heat of the heating body and generating steam in the rear face of a heating planar surface part 13, along with the heating planar surface part 13 and a lower-step circumferential wall 16; and the steam generated in the vessel part is so constituted as to be guided inside a drainboard 7 mounted on the step part 17 provided around the upper end whole circumference of the lower step circumferential wall 16 for executing steam cooking.
