The invention provides a combination recorder/player equipped with three recording/playback functions of a VCR unit, DVD unit, and HDD unit almost equal to exterior size of a conventional combination recorder/player equipped with two recording/playback functions of a VCR unit and DVD unit. In an enclosure 3, a VCR unit 4 is placed in an upper left front part, a DVD unit 5 is placed in an upper right front part, an HDD unit 6 is placed sideways in a lower right rear part with a flank facing the front and with the HDD unit 6 being separated from the enclosure's bottom face 7 by a gap; and the HDD unit 6 and the DVD unit 5 face each other vertically at some distance with the front end of the HDD unit 6 located ahead of the rear end of the DVD unit 5.
