The laminated composite component comprises a substrate(8) based on at least one fibre layer(9) and an outer facing layer(13) incorporating particles(16), metal fibres and/or other fibres(17), both substrate and facing layer being impregnated with a binder(11) to bond them into a single component(1). In a process for manufacturing a laminated component(1) particles are deposited in the facing layer near the fibres(17) before impregnation of both substrate(8) and facing layer(13) with the binder(11).
