<p>The magnetic needle selection system, for the patterning unit at especially a flatbed knitter, has at least one selection magnet assembly (10) with at least one permanent magnet holding zone (H) and at least one throwing zone (11,11') with at least one controlled coil (13,13') to pull out the needle selectors (7-7") against the magnet assembly. The coil has a controlled constant current strength profile on throwing out a needle selector independently of the selectors held in by the magnet assembly. The needle bed (3) is of a ferromagnetic material over its whole movement range at the magnet assembly.</p> |
