1294458 Sliding clasp fasteners A M BROWN 4 Dec 1969 [11 Dec 1968] 59390/69 Heading E2S A sliding clasp fastener is formed from a plastics core strip 11 which is divided by a serpentine slit 15 into two rows of interlocking teeth 11a, 11b, a carrier strip of material which is less rigid than the core strip 11 being extruded about the said core strip and being divided into two carrier elements 18a, 18b from beneath whose edges the teeth project, the teeth being interlocked by means of a slider 28. In a further embodiment reinforcing means in the form of two cords (144), Fig. 8 (not shown) are provided and which prevent stretching of the strap 11 during manufacture.
