Method and apparatus for generating a CT dataset

The system for generating computerised image data sets (CT*) can be used for the investigation of a patient as well as for preliminary surgical encroachments in bone areas, for example the spinal column, hip joints or knees where the system can produce a computerised image structure of the area without the need of x-rays. A received magnetic resonance image (MR) of the analysed object is investigated against a transformation or mapping (f) of a magnetic resonance reference data set (MRr). The received magnetic resonance image (MR) has the reference data sets (MRr) formed from it such that the transformation or mapping corresponds to computerised reference data sets (CTr) around which a specific virtual computerised image data set(CT*=f(CTr)) is created.
