Injection moulding core - forming part of casting

Cast components with non-continuous caviteis etc. are made with the aid of pre-fabricated cores with continuous cavities consisting of the same material as the component to be cast, which are inserted into the casting mould. After sealing of the core bores, the melt is cast round the core which then becomes part of the casting. The method circumvents the use of expensive lost cores, using permanent cores for the casting of the inset cores. The process is primarily intended for plastic and metal die and injection casting.
