<p>A separator (1) has a body (20) into which a liquid containing foreign objects is led, a clean chamber (30) positioned at the upper end of the body (20), a communication tube (31) communicating between the body (20) and the clean chamber (30), and a porous separation tube (33) installed in the clean chamber (30). On the centerline of a whirl flow produced in the body (20) by whirling of the liquid are formed a pillar-like air layer (44) and a clean liquid layer (45) ascending along the peripheral surface of the air layer (44). The air layer (44) and the liquid layer (45) are led into the separation tube (33) through the communication tube (31). On the bottom of the clean chamber (30) are disposed a first containing portion (36) for containing a liquid passed through the separation tube (33), a second containing portion (37) for containing a liquid flowing into it from the first containing portion (36), and a liquid exit (41) for discharging a clean liquid. The liquid exit (41) is located at a position lower than the level of the liquid contained in the second containing portion (37).</p> |
