Vent means and method of manufacture

A vent means has a body having a first side, an opposite second side and a fluid path between the first side and second side provided by porosity in the body. A membrane is connected to the second side of the body by a first closed hermetic seal which surrounds the fluid path. The membrane includes a membrane aperture therethrough within an area defined by the hermetic seal. The vent means is adapted to substantially prevent one or more selected contaminants from passing through the fluid path. A method of manufacturing a vent means is also disclosed.
