An apparatus for heating a board product 1 that contains glued wood is disclosed. The apparatus includes a heating chamber through which the board product passes. A heating field in the chamber is created using microwave energy applied in the board plane transversal to the direction of travel of the board. The clearance between both edges of the board and the wall of the heating apparatus 3 is filled by a slide piece 2, 2Æ made of a material having a small loss tangent and low dielectric factor.
