Telecommunications system with messaging from user financial accounts to message accounts

A telecommunications network is set up to provide a plurality of user accounts associated with respective users and each including a user message account and a user financial account. The user can receive and send messages by way of their message account. A financial server receives "financial commodities" such as credits and deposits the credits into the financial accounts of the respective appropriate users. When the credit is deposited into a userÆs financial account a receipt message concerning the receipt of the credit into the userÆs financial account is sent to the userÆs message account from where it can be read by the user.
