The manifold has an inner manifold unit (12) comprising a rectilinear upstream tube (22) whose one end (24) is arranged along the length of an exhaust duct in a cylinder head of a heat engine. An end (26) of the tube is embedded slidingly with an intermediate part (28) of downstream tubes (16, 18) for permitting dilation of the manifold unit during rise of temperature of the exhaust manifold. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating an exhaust manifold.
