<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card processor for preventing any unnecessary processing from being operated to an IC card on which any magnetic stripe is not formed or a magnetic card on which any IC is not mounted, and for shortening a processing time, and for suppressing the deterioration of a component life due to the abrasion of a magnetic head or an IC contact. <P>SOLUTION: This card processor 1 detects whether or not any magnetic stripe is formed, or whether or not any IC is mounted on a card inserted from a card insertion port. In the case of the card on which any magnetic stripe is not formed, any unnecessary magnetic processing is not performed.
