PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water volume control method which can adjust the volume of filtrate from a renewed filtration membrane module to not more than an allowable filtrate volume when a using filtration membrane module and the renewed filtration membrane module are operated together. SOLUTION: In a membrane filtration device made by arranging a plurality of filtration membrane modules, when a part of the filtration membrane modules are renewed to be operated, an orifice is inserted between a filtrate outlet nozzle and filtrate collecting piping to adjust the volume of the filtrate from the renewed filtration membrane module to not more than the allowable filtrate volume.
