PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a connecting section of an universal joint so as to surely prevent a power transmitting shaft from pulling out and improve working efficiency for connection with the power transmitting shaft. SOLUTION: The connecting section 80 for fastening and fixing on the power transmitting shaft is arranged on a stem 12 extending from a first joint member 10 or a stem 22 extending from a second joint member 20. The connecting section 80 is provided with a shaft fitting section 81 which is a cylindrical shape capable of inserting the power transmitting shaft and is integrally formed on the stems 12 and 22, and a fastening member 82 which straddles the shaft fitting section 81 and is formed in a forked shape and extends a pair of tabs 82a in parallel in a direction rectangular to an axis of the shaft fitting section 81. The shaft fitting section 81 has a slit 81a at least at one location in a peripheral direction, and also has a notch 81b in a direction rectangular to an axis.
