PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold capable of quantitatively grasping the magnitude and direction of thrust force produced in the mold used in the molding of a resin or the like capable of incorporating a thrust force measure in the mold in a designing stage in manufacturing the mold, capable of preventing defectiveness of a molded product and capable of reducing a mold cost, and a mold designing method. SOLUTION: The mold is equipped with thrust receiving parts 2a and 2c corresponding to the magnitude and direction of the thrust force Fs being the sum total of the force (f) acting on the inner surface of the mold at the time of molding processing and the component fs in the direction right-angled to a mold opening/closing direction (v).
