QUIET CHEVRON/TAB EXHAUST EDUCTOR SYSTEM

The present invention provides a means for inducing (educting) a "passive" secondary flow stream (122) using an exhaust eductor system (110) including a primary exhaust nozzle (112) designed to transport an active flow stream (120) and a plurality of tabs (118) extending from a rear perimeter of the primary exhaust nozzle (112). Each of the tabs (118) is designed to be bent at an angle in relation to the primary exhaust nozzle (112). An exhaust mixing duct (114) is positioned around the primary exhaust nozzle (112) that is designed to transport a passive flow stream (122) to the active flow stream (120) where the plurality of tabs (118) create a streamwise vorticity to enhance the mixing of the active flow stream (120) and the passive flow stream (122).
