Industrial laser robot for e.g. welding, cutting or hardening has mirror beam detector coupled through mechanical control to electronic laser head control

A laser process and assembly for e.g. welding, cutting or hardening uses a laser source (3) that is redirected as required by an electronic control unit (4). The current laser track is monitored by a remote non-contact detection system (5). The detector is a mirror or reflector with a mechanical linkage to the electronic control system. Also claimed is a control unit for the laser head deflection.
