The self tapping screw has a head (12) and a shaft (10), with a ball end (24) on the lower end of the shaft. The ball end has a diameter similar to the core diameter of the thread (20) on the shank. The screw is fitted into a bore (30) in a plastics workpiece which has the same diameter as the ball end so that a thread is partially turned in the bore. |
