<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which is operable even if a fault occurs in a high capacity storage unit required for image processing of a hard disk drive or the like, and the storage unit becomes inoperable. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 2 stores, in a work area 220a, data indicating operation contents concerning image processing and backs up the data, stored in the work area 220a, indicating the operation contents into a recovery area 320b of an image processing apparatus 3 that is connected communicably.
