PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of avoiding wasteful power consumption without degrading the operability of the camera. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a first time count means for shifting the imaging apparatus to a power-saving mode when a first prescribed time elapses; a second time count means for turning off power when a second prescribed time elapses; a time count reset means for resetting the first and second time count means; an operation means for operating the imaging apparatus; and a detection means for detecting at least either of an posture change and vibration of the imaging apparatus, and the time count reset means is configured so as to allow the time count reset means to reset the first and second time count means when the operation means operates the imaging apparatus and so as to reset the first time count means and so as not to reset the second time count means when the detection means detects at least either of the posture change and the vibration of the imaging apparatus.
