PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely transmit data without lack in a portable communication terminal with e-mail function by determining an optimum input limit capacity, and forming, correcting or dividing a mail based on the input limit capacity. SOLUTION: This portable communication terminal comprises a ROM 2 storing an e-mail program; a telephone directory storage memory 3 storing a telephone directory in which a receivable capacity of mails is set for every destination; a work memory 4 storing formed mails; a transmitting capacity storage part 5 storing a transmittable capacity of the own terminal; a key 6 and a key input part 7 performing input of information necessary for formation of the telephone directory and mails; a display part 8 and a display control part 9 for displaying the information necessary for formation of the telephone directory and mails; and a central processing part performing control of each part constituting the portable communication terminal. This terminal further comprises a means for comparing the receivable capacities of destinations with the transmittable capacity of the own terminal to determine the input limit capacity for every destination.
