PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a desulfurization reagent for high-temperature reductive gases and to provide a manufacturing method for the reagent which improves the desulfurization speed for a zinc ferrite at low temperature and is compatible with a sufficiently low removal limit. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the desulfurization reagent involves each process of filtering, cleaning, drying and sintering a precipitated mixture of zinc and iron obtained by a uniform precipitation method by heating an aqueous solution containing a zinc salt, an iron salt and a precipitant-generating substance.
