<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive roll which has small environmental variation and resistance change with time and can suppress resistance variations and is suitable in cleaning adequacy, and an image forming apparatus using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The conductive roll has a substrate elastic layer including at least one or more conductive elastic layers and a conductive surface layer provided on the outer peripheral surface of a conductive base. The substrate elastic layer consists essentially of epichlorohydrin rubber, acrylonitrile butadiene rubber, and an electron conductive conducting agent. Here, (1) a volume resistance value is 10<SP>7</SP>to 10<SP>9</SP>Ω in an environment of 22°C and 55% RH and (2) the difference between common logarithm values of volume resistance values at 28°C 85% RH and 10°C 15% RH is ≤0.5. Further, (3) a quantity of change in volume resistance value when a current of 20 μA is applied continuously for 25 hours in the environment of 10°C and 15% RH is ≤0.5 in terms of common logarithmic value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
