<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe, easily recognizable, and excellent user interface environment which is integrated with attaching and detaching operations of a memory card by a user. <P>SOLUTION: A remote control device 4 capable of remotely controlling a television apparatus is provided with a signal transmitting unit 405 capable of transmitting a command and data to the television apparatus, a power source button 406 for performing ON/OFF operation of the power source of the television apparatus, a memory card slot 408 for detachably attaching a memory card, a reading unit 410 for reading data from the memory card 6 attached to the memory card slot 408, and a detecting unit 409 for detecting the presence or absence of attaching the memory card 6 on the memory card slot 408. If the power source button 406 is depressed when it is detected that the memory card 6 is attached to the remote control device 4, the data read from the memory card 6 are transmitted in addition to a power source signal from the transmitting unit 405 to the television apparatus, and the television apparatus stores the data into a hard disk device 313. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
