<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical isolator with which reflection attenuation amount is increased looking from an optical fiber side by avoiding the coupling of scattered light with the optical fiber even when a polarizer generates the scattered light. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical isolator integrated with an optical fiber, an optical isolator composed of at least an absorption type polarizer and a Faraday rotator is adhered and fixed at the end of the optical fiber. A flat plate which is transparent at a used wavelength is arranged between the absorption type polarizer and the optical fiber, and the end face angle X (degree) at the end of the optical fiber and the thickness of the transparent flat plate Y (mm) are included within a region surrounded by four points (0, 0.2), (0, 0.5), (10, 0.5) and (10, 0.05) on a plane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
