PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method by which an index image coincident with each frame image position on an actual film for serving as a manuscript arranged on a manuscript table can be simply created and image management recognizable at a glance can be performed. SOLUTION: Each frame of a film arranged on the manuscript table of a scanner is clipped and positional relationship of a front and rear, left and right of a plurality of shot frames on the manuscript table is detected. The index image of a frame position with the positional relationship kept is created.
