PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spherical toner which has smooth surface, is superior in performances, such as electrical chargeability and transfer characteristics, provides high image quality, to provide a manufacturing method for the toner and to provide a developer, a vessel containing the toner, a process cartridge, an image forming apparatus, and an image forming method which use the toner and provide high image quality. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method for the toner, dissolved or dispersed liquid of toner material is dispersed into a water-base medium and dispersion liquid is prepared and granulated, wherein, to the dissolved or dispersed liquid, a shearing force is applied for 30 sec at a shear rate of 30,000 (1/sec) at 25°C; thereafter, the shear rate is changed from 0 (1/sec) to 70 (1/sec) and the viscosity of the dissolved or dispersed liquid at a shear rate of 70 (1/sec) comes to 1 to 100 mPa sec. As a preferred embodiment, granulation is performed, while preparing an adhesive base material in the water-based medium, by causing an active hydrogen group-containing compound to react with a polymer capable of reacting with the active hydrogen group-containing compound.
