The method is for the construction of a lamella grate plate consisting of a base frame (2) and several lamellae installed one behind the other in the direction of feed. During thermal expansion of the lamellae their displacement in relation to the base frame does not lead to a deformation of the base frame, but the deformation is compensated for on other components. The deformable elements (8) are located on the entry lamellae (3), the intermediate lamellae (4), or on the end lamellae (5). An independent claim is included for a device for the construction of a lamella grate plate with elements which deform during thermal expansion to compensate for displacement of the lamellae.
