Process for manufacturing a workpiece having a chamber profile from metals or metal alloys comprises extruding a blank to form a chamber profile extrusion. The workpiece is removed as a preform from the chamber profile extrusion and then converted into the end form by cold working under cold work-hardening. An independent claim is also included for a workpiece manufactured by the above process. Preferred Features: The degree of working during cold working is at least 10%, preferably up to 40% and above. |
