An electromagnetic pump delivers a supply of a liquid medium that is also a conductor of electricity. The magnetic field and current are at right angles to each other and together cause the Lorentz force on the liquid. The pump incorporates an insulated tube for the liquid medium. The tube incorporates two central symmetrical facing electrodes located in the pipe wall. The pipe has external magnetic coils located between the anode and cathode electrodes. The number of coils is the same as the number of electrode pairs.
