The present invention provides a fuel treatment apparatus (10) for magnetically treating fuel flowing through a fuel conduit (100). The fuel treatment apparatus (10) comprises an upper magnet assembly (20), a lower magnet assembly (40), and a fastening assembly. The magnet assemblies (20, 40) each comprise a magnet positioning cradle (21, 41), a magnet (22, 42), and a magnet cover plate (37, 57). Each cradle (21, 41) comprises a pair of seat flanges upon which the magnets (22, 42) seat. The cover plates (37, 57) maintain the magnets (22, 42) in seated engagement within the cradles (21, 41) and a uniform magnetic field is directed orthogonal to the planes in which the seat flanges lie. Each cradle (21, 41) further comprises a conduit-receiving groove. When the magnet assemblies (20, 40) are fastened to one another via the fastening assembly, the conduit-receiving grooves cooperatively form conduit-receiving apertures for receiving the fuel conduit (100) and thus the fuel treatment apparatus (10) magnetically treats fuel flowing through the fuel conduit (100).
