<p>The invention relates to a semi-continuous process and to a reactor for producing polyadducts of alkylene oxides by a reaction of addition of alkylene oxide to a chain initiator having at least one active hydrogen. In the claimed process there is provided a reactor (1) consisting of a cylindrical body with two diameters, the upper part being of larger diameter than the lower part, a heat-exchange apparatus (2) and recycling conduits (13 and 15) for recycling the reaction mixture from the bottom to the top of the reactor in order to obtain the desired final product. The claimed process enables the products to be made with higher flexibility and reduces the production time, in fact, the use of said reactor making possible to start the process with a volume of chain initiator of up to 1/90 of the volume of the final reaction product, allowing very high molecular weights to be reached in a single production batch, or allowing smaller quantities of polyadduct of the same molecular weight value to be obtained.</p> |
