<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clutch device of an automatic transmission capable of accurately detecting a rotating speed of the clutch device, while restraining sliding resistance between a clutch piston and a clutch drum. <P>SOLUTION: In this clutch device of the automatic transmission, a piston member 48 of the clutch piston is arranged on the outer periphery of an outer peripheral side cylinder part 28c of the clutch drum for supporting a frictional engagement element by an inner peripheral surface, and a rotating speed sensor 84 for detecting a rotating speed of the piston member 48, is arranged on the outer peripheral side of the piston member 48 of its clutch piston. A spline is formed in the piston member 48 for making its piston member 48 relatively nonrotatable to the outer peripheral side cylinder part 28c of the clutch drum. A recessed part 86 corresponding to its spline is formed on an outer peripheral surface. Oil holes 80 are formed in a plurality in the peripheral direction in its piston member 48 so that a shaft directional position overlaps with the rotating speed sensor 84. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
