PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase safety at the time of vehicle collision on a tilt lever. SOLUTION: A lock mechanism 3 for locking and unlocking rotation of a steering column 2 to the vehicle body side is provided in a bracket 5 connected with the vehicle body side. Locking and unlocking of the steering column 2 is operated by rotation of the tilt lever 4 having one end connected with the lock mechanism 3 and the other end having an operation part 7 in a steering device 1 for the vehicle. The steering column 2 is relatively moved forward in the shaft direction at the time of vehicle collision. A stopper part 9 for regulating rotation of the tilt lever 4 by interfering with a steering lock device 10 provided in the steering column 2 at the time of vehicle collision is formed in the tilt lever 4.
