PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fancy yarn forming a slub part that is partially brilliant and clear in a specific surface change and having excellent processing stability and a method for producing a fancy yarn having deep dyeing effect besides the aforementioned effect. SOLUTION: The method for producing the fancy yarn comprises, in a processing method for intermittently jetting compressed air from a fluid jetting nozzle 5 to a yarn supplied in an overfed state to carry out fluid disturbance treatment, sucking a yarn between a feed roller 1 and the fluid jetting nozzle 5 from a yarn guide to retain the yarn at the time of suspension of jetting compressed air by the suction flow of negative pressure and jetting compressed air to the base part of the retained yarn by a first fluid treatment nozzle 3 and interlacing approximately the whole length of the retained yarn at the time of jetting compressed air, carrying out fluid disturbance treatment by the fluid jetting nozzle 5 and intermittently forming a nonslub part composed of a noninterlaced part and a slub part composed of a triple interlaced part and a single interlaced part in the length direction of the yarn.
