The inductor has an insulation layer, and a retaining unit (31) for dampening mechanical vibrations of inductor, where the retaining unit supports the inductor. The retaining unit encompasses the inductor on both sides across winding direction. The retaining unit has attachment sections for encompassing clamping sections that are U-shape in structure. Another insulation layer is provided between the retaining unit and the inductor. An independent claim is also included for a printed circuit board comprising an electrical inductor.
