PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device capable of minimizing the number of key inputting by a user, when inputting characters on a mobile terminal. SOLUTION: The method includes the process of confirming a key press of a key input unit, the process of storing a key press event by the key press and performing an operation relating to the key press event, the process of confirming decision whether a predetermined multi-click key is inputted, after the key press, and the process for performing the operation relating to the key press event, until about predetermined numbers are repeated, corresponding to the multi-click key if the multi-click key has been inputted.
