PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine, capable of receiving a relay request, in which the aspect of security in transmission is improved by making only limited telephone numbers available as receiver stations by registering availability/non-availability as a receiver station in advance. SOLUTION: Telephone numbers of receiver stations FAX:C and FAX:D are registered in a FAX:B beforehand. Furthermore, registration numbers, telephone numbers and availability/non-availability as receiver station can be set as registration contents. When a repeater station starts receiving a relay request, it is judged, from a registration number of an instructed receiver station, whether or not the receiver station is registered and whether or not, if registered, the station is made available as a receiver station. If all the receiver stations instructed from the repeater station are registered and they are available as receiver stations as a result, CFR is sent back. If the instructed receiver stations are not registered or when they are not available as receiver stations even if registered, on the other hand, communication is interrupted.
