PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more reliable surface piezoelectric resonating device which does not adversely influence product characteristics by absorbing a molten gas as a sealing agent in a container. SOLUTION: In a ceramic base 1, a piezoelectric element 31 is housed, and a metallized layer 11d is formed on the top surface peripheral end. The ceramic base is brazed with a metallic cap 2 which is mounted to the top of the metallized layer of the base, and composed of two layers of a metal base material 2a and a brazing material layer 2b so that they are hermetically sealed.
