PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for mounting a heat-shrinkable label capable of avoiding an influence of heating to a container as much as possible when the heat-shrinkable label on which printing is applied is mounted by heat-shrinking on such a container as a PET bottle, and in particular, capable of re-mounting the label on a relatively low heat-resistant container when inferiority of mounting of the label is generated, and to provide an apparatus for it. SOLUTION: After a spout part of the container 2 is thermally protected by a thermally protecting means 15 for the spout part, the container 2 on which the heat-shrinkable label 1 is covered is supported under an inversely resupinated condition by a container supporting means 14, and the container 2 and the heat-shrinkable label 1 are inserted into a heat-shrinking means 18 by a relatively moving means 13, and the heat-shrinkable label 1 is mounted on the container 2 by heating successively the circumference from the bottom part side toward the spout part side. It is thereby possible that the spout of the container which most receives the influence of heating is prevented from being affected, even a bottle-like container can be mounted with the label while wrinkles of the label and positional deviation of the label are prevented from being generated, and by making the container under the inversely resupinated condition, the influence of heat to the spout part is surely avoided by utilizing heat capacity of the content filled.
