<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sales management device and a sales management method for effectively preventing the theft of an electronic appliance and performing sales management at every sales outlet. <P>SOLUTION: The method comprises a code obtaining step to obtain sales outlet codes identifying sales outlets and commodity codes identifying the electronic appliances connected to the sales management device; an prohibition releasing data reception step to receive prohibition releasing data releasing the prohibition of operations of firmware for the connected electronic appliance which is specified on the basis of the sales outlet codes and the commodity codes from a server; and a prohibition releasing data transmission step to transmit the prohibition releasing data received from the server to the connected electronic appliances in order to store the releasing data in prescribed areas of the electronic appliances. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
