PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for manufacturing a magnetic tape that has appropriate shapes of cutting faces on both sides and is highly resistant to end-face abrasion during running, and provide a tape-like magnetic recording medium obtained thereby. SOLUTION: A slitter 22 has a plurality of thin blades 32, 32... mounted on a shaft 38, and a plurality of thick blades 30, 30... mounted on a shaft 34. The thin blades 32 are disposed on two sides of the thick blades 30, and edge faces 32a of the thin blades 32 are contacted to edge faces 30a, 30a on both sides of the thick blades 30.
